Hiking | Photo Diary

Yesterday me and Cree went hiking - just to get some fresh air, and explore the city. We ran into some tee-pee's, a school bus, and endless amounts of greenery. It was beautiful and I highly recommend getting outdoors and exploring sights around your city!

Skiing Trip

Here are a couple of photos from my first time skiing last weekend. We had a blast, it was such a beautiful day, sun was shining and there had been a fresh dumping of snow the night before. It was perfect, until I had a panic attack at the top of the slope (damn it Courtney!) I think it was because I suddenly realised there is no way of getting down the mountain other than taking your ski's with you. I was nervous to try out this skiing thing in the first place, so I think my emotions just got the better of me, and if you've read my most recent post, I'm not really good at controlling them right now. Once I got down to the bottom, it was safe to say my body was telling me to go drink hot chocolate inside the chalet, and calm down a bit.

Overall though, the day was great. So much fun was had, and I'm really proud of myself for not backing out of it. Here's something else to cross of that bucket list of mine!!

Wintry Beach Trip

Being from Australia, I didn't see a lot of ice or snow in my travels to the beach. So it always astounds me when I visit a frozen lake in the Canadian winter times. It's such a freeing/scary feeling, standing meters out on a lake you were swimming in 6 months ago.

So today me and Cree decided to take a little Sunday drive to the lake we love to spend our summers at, and see what the little town of Port Dalhousie was like in the colder, more white months.

Of course we first had to stop at the local Tim Horton's for a hot drink, and drove around a bit to find out where we wanted to explore. Port Dalhousie is a little town full of quaint little shops, little holiday huts, and various marina's and pools of water. The main pond that runs through the town, was completely frozen. It was amazing to see hockey being played and people ice fishing.

We then decided to jump back into the warm car and go across to the main beach. The sand was cold, and the water was of course frozen for about 50 meters out. It was incredible to see air bubbles under the frozen surface, seaweed stuck in one place, water ripples frozen in time, and 5 people walking on the beach at one time.

Lots of love,

The Blue Lagoon

Today was one of the nicest autumn days we've had this year so far, so I did not want to spend it inside. We decided to go for a walk and explore and play in the crunchy leaves, only to find this hidden lagoon behind Cree's university. The sky was so blue, and the water was so reflective of the orange trees, I just wanted to snap everything. There wasn't much wildlife out (which I was a little disappointed about) but still managed to get some good pictures of the beautiful scenery.

A Day In The Sunshine

So I have basically fallen in love with Niagara Falls... even more and more each time I visit. Since I now only live 20 minutes away from the falls, I wanted to update you all on my whereabouts for today :) I think because it was a long weekend this weekend here in Canada, the sun had quite a lot of heat to it, and we wanted to get out of the house, we thought we'd go for a walk and possibly jump on the river cruise to the falls. We didn't end up doing that because the wait for the boat was literally about 500 meters long, which would have taken at least 2-3 hours. But we had a lovely few hours walking along the falls, sightseeing, people watching and eating ice creams! Here are just a few photographs from the day that I wanted to share.

This is called "Cree gimme the camera!" hahaha nice facials you got there Courtney

You can hopefully now appreciate why I love this beautiful city. Even though it is a huge tourist spot, you can find the nooks and crannies that makes it so gorgeous.

Hiking In Niagara Falls

As you may or may not know, I now live in Niagara Falls with my boyfriend, Cree, and we thought we would get out and explore the wilderness today. We found teepees and caves, climbed up and down rocks, made silly faces, then finished the afternoon at the beach. Was the most perfect day with the most perfect boy :)

Attempt two... haha

Was just a very casual day out in the sunshine with Cree, and we are making the most of summer before the snow comes!

Go, get out and don't waste the warmer months <3

Lots of love, xxx
