I Went Shopping! | Office Attire, Pajama's, Shoes

I start a new job next Monday and it's in an office. I have always had a uniform for work, so I have no office attire. I shopping mainly in H&M in their work area for office appropriate clothing to start me off, and got a few other bits & bobs :) I'll start off with the shirts I got, then pants and skirts, shoes, and then the other few things I picked up! I'm not too sure on how casual or business like this office is, therefore while shopping I kept in mind of clothing items that can be dressed up or down to start me off. I am also planning on doing an "Office Lookbook" sometime in the week so you can see how I plan on wearing and matching everything!

1. As soon as I saw this I knew I had to have it. It is the perfect shade of blue, perfect colour blocking, and the perfect fit for tucking into a skirt, or putting on over trousers. The only issue is the neckline is a little too low for my liking in the office, so I will be buying a little bandeau or singlet for underneath :)

2. This doesn't look too flattering on the hanger, however I tucked it into a black skirt and it looked beautiful and fitted lovely. I love the stripes on it and the subtle colour and fun it brings to an outfit. I also love the hem on this!!

3. This is a little "older" than I what preferably like, however looks so flattering with trousers. I love the layering detail so much!

4. This dress is a simple khaki coloured fit-and-flare dress, perfect for work. You can dress it up by a statement necklace, blazer, and cute shoes. I had to buy this colour because it only came in khaki, mustard or a bright red-orange. This is the one I thought was the best "officey" one from all the selections. I love the texture of the fabric, and it's quite thick for the fall too, to pair with tights. Very comfortable and nicely fitting, and a nice length for me for the office.

5. I picked up a little black skirt because I didn't have one. The fabric and texture is very similar to the above dress, which again is perfect for the cooler months :)

6. I picked up two very slim and fitting trousers that sit on the ankle which are perfect for the office. They are high-waisted, stretchy, and have a gold zipper on the side. I bought a black pair and a dark grey pair - you can't see the colour difference on camera though :( The one thing I'm not too fond of is they don't have pockets *sigh*

7. These flats are so adorable! I love the tan colour and the weaving detail. They are giving me blisters right now, but they seem stretchy, so I'll keep soldering on and wearing them before I start work and have sore feet :P

8. Comfortable heels are a must for the office, but I could not bring myself to be wearing heels all day, so I opted for small wedges. These are just a plain black wedge with about a 1.5" heel on them. They are super comfortable and instantly put "cute" on any outfit. I love them!

WE ARE NOW ENTERING THE "BITS & BOBS" SECTION!

9. I bought this blouse because OMG LOOK HOW ADORABLE IT IS!?!?!? It has multicoloured cats on it!!! Paired with black jeans, it looks super cute. I love it!

10. I bought this pencil case on clearance from Hallmark and I love it. It's that tan brown I'm obsessing over at the moment, gold zipper, and a beautiful quote reading "I want to travel across the world, and breathe the air of new places." Isn't that just a must-have? Haha

11. Okay the next three items I had to buy because it was literally by 3 for the price of 1, so I could not say no. They're all pajama pieces, and super cute.

The first is a shirt that I got two sizes too big so I can just wear it as a nighty and be comfortable. It's a purple-grey with an adorable cats face on it!

The second I thing I picked up are these cute plaid pinky-red boxer shorts. Super comfortable and you can never have too many pajama bottoms ;)

The last, and probably my favourite purchase, are these rabbit-printed lounge trousers. They are so comfortable, soft, fitting and ADORABLE + they have pockets!

Everything I could find online:
1. Blue sleeveless blouse
Patterned chiffon blouse
3. H&M layered blouse
4. Textured dress
5. Not exact but similar
6. Not exact but similar
7. Sears tan flats
8. Black canvas wedges
9. H&M cat blouse
10. Hallmark pencil case
11. La Vie En Rose Cat shirt / Plaid boxers / no link for the rabbits :(

Hope this gives you some "office" & pajama inspiration! I feel like the main theme of these purchases were animals (oops)

My Top 10 Summer Wardrobe Staples

The "Everything" Top
I don't have a plain white simple top that I can switch up with everything in my wardrobe. However I do love this reversible flowy singlet I have that is from Express. I wear it mainly on the light pink side, but there is a burnt orange that you can also wear if you're wanting a pop of colour. A perfect top for a day-to-night time look.

Floral Skirt
I love skirts, they're my wardrobe holy grail. I bought this skirt in particular from Boohoo, and I absolutely adore it. I love to wear it with a cute white crop shirt for a very clean yet sophisticated outfit.

Denim Jacket
Is a must have. I wear mine to death I think it's time to let it go and buy another haha. I bought mine from JayJays in Australia about 3 years ago, so they have a very good life on them. You can dress it up or down, roll up the sleeves for a casual look, or tie it around your waist while you are not wearing it. The possibilities are endless.

Dressy Blouse
I am trying to make more of an effort to wear blouses because I want to e someone who can pull them off. I bought this one from Boohoo and it's so pretty once buttoned up to the neck line and tucked into a skirt. Plus I think you could also get away with rolling the sleeves up or wearing it as a kimono too! I will just have to experience more...

Black Jeans
I think everyone, girls and guys, need these in their lives. These are also my first choice when it comes to jeans. They go with every shirt, every shoe, every coat/jacket, every accessory. You can wear then full length or roll the ankles up. If you don't have a pair, go out right now and get some. I bought mine from H&M.

Sandals
Sandals are a must-have. There's no doubt about it during the warmer months. They're so comfortable, laid back and chic. Plus you can wear them wherever you go, by dressing them up or down. Mine are from Call It Spring.

Hat
I'm not one to wear hats, but I bought this one specifically for my holiday to New York. I bought this black fedora from Target before they closed down here in Canada (noooooooooooooo).

Sunglasses
Sunglasses are a must. Not only do they protect your eyes, they look super adorable. Also, don't listen to anyone who says you only need one pair in your collection!

Curling Wand
Loose curls are so flawless and romantic and pretty for this season. Whether you leave them down, or pop them up into a ponytail, they look so effortless. My curling wand is the NuMe 1" from the Lustrum Set.

Backpack
I'm one to hold my wallet and phone rather than to worry about a bag falling off my shoulder, or worse yet, make my skirt rise up at the back. But then I regret not bringing a bag because now I only have one hand to work with. This is where I love my backpack (from Sears) so much. There are so many pockets to hide all your gems in, so much space for your wallet, phone, keys, hand cream, water bottle, etc. Plus it is soo super comfortable to wear and looks so cute with any outfit.

What are your staple wardrobe items this Summer?

What I'd Wear to a Concert

Recently, I saw Lights in concert - I don't really know her music but my boyfriend and his sister love her so I tagged along :)

I curled my hair with the NuMe Lustrum 1" curling wand, and rocked a smokey neutral eye with a pinky-nude lip. I'm sorry if the photos are poor quality :(

In the waterline I used a white eyeliner, and used it to brighten up the inner corner of my eyes.

On the cheeks I just bought up the bronzer onto my forehead, and used a really pretty pink blush on the apples and backwards toward my hairline.

For the lashes, I did a base coat of Rimmel London Scandal Eyes Lycra Flex, and then went over the top lashes again with Roller Lash.

I did a really smokey golden neutral eye.

And the completed look. Wah-la.

I am currently obsessed with this high-necked top from Garage. I paired it with black rolled jeans and white converse.

The look is super simple and so comfortable. I hope you gained some inspiration from this :)

What summer concerts/festivals do you have lined up this year? What are your must-have concert staples?

Wedding OOTD & FOTD

My boyfriends sister got married on Saturday, and unfortunately I had an ear infection, so I couldn't/wasn't the lively self I usually am. However, she had an amazing day, and so did everyone else, and so did I, I just couldn't use the dance floor as much as I wanted to. It is Spring here in Canada, and the weather is still making up it's mind about what it wants to be doing. Luckily it was a beautiful sunny day, however the wind was very chilly. I went for a very neutral smokey eye with a pink bold lip, cute little dress, white heels and a leather jacket for when it got cooler.

Spending $$$ & FOTD

Today I went into London (no not England... London, Ontario) and wasn't really going for anything in particular but came out with some 3 new items I wanted to share with you :) I am going to Washington and New York mid July so I have been keeping my eye out for some new comfortable and practical clothing for the trip. Here's what I picked up!

Comfy shoes are a must, and I am loving white right now, so no my black Vans will not cut it. I got these at Footlocker however they're not on their site to link them.

This playsuit is soooo soft and comfortable! When wearing it, it looks like a dress, however I love it more than a LBD because it won't fly up when it's windy when walking through Central Park! It's very flowy and light and stretchy. The only issue I may have with it is when I need to go to the bathroom, it's going to be difficult to get off due to it being done up at the back with a button, rather than a zip. But we'll see how it goes. Worst comes to worst, Mum will just have to do it up in the bathroom haha. I just love it because it'll be easy to dress down for day wear, then throw on some bright jewelry and bam, out for dinner we go :)

This is a super comfortable, high-necked tight-knitted tank top that I thought would look cute with high waisted shorts or a skirt. Plus I have nothing like it, so why not?

Face today was just a neutral eye and light pink lips with Rimmel London Color Rush in Make Me Blush. Hair was curled and strands around face were bobby-pinned back.
